ND Digital Single Market Summit


Summary

The one-day summit will bring together major thinkers from the public and private sectors to debate the public policy responses necessary to ensure that Europe fully adapts to the digitization of the economy and that it is harnessed to enhance competitiveness, drive growth and job creation.

Without high-speed and quality networks it will be impossible for Europeans, both businesses and consumers, to benefit from digitalization. Europe will be left behind its competitors. This panel will examine what sort of regulatory framework is required to incentivize this much needed investment.

Europe is focused on regaining global digital leadership. The DSM strategy is however very inward looking. Europe must not lose sight of the fact that the digital economy is global and that taken measures in Europe will only go some way to ensuring European competitiveness. This panel will examine developments from around the world and see what lessons can be learned that could be applied to Europe.
